My Blog Comments!!

1.  When You’re Tackling That Tough Subject

by Carmen D’Agostino

I found all of that same information! I like the last bullet point that you made because it was a refresher to me. I did not really remember that point in the course, but now I will.  I also like to compromise and solve things that way, but there are other ways. Great job on your blog. I am new at this and reading everyone’s and it is very overwhelming.

Thanks!
Kate

2.  PR in Ireland

by Jenn Browning

This was a great video showing what another country is doing in the PR world.  I really liked that choice of video.  It was well put together and was very relevant to PR. Plus, I love their accents! I makes me want to go over to Ireland and check it out and possibly work there. I liked this a lot.

3. Enough Already with the Bad PowerPoints!

by Carmen D’Agostino

I loved this blog post of yours! I am actually giving a power point presentation soon and this was a nice little reminder how to give a great presentation. I have definitely had those professors that are boring and just read from the slides and I think to myself what is the point? I liked how you used a video clip in your post. It really enhanced it and made your post fun and enjoyable! Great post!!

4. A Man for the Job

by Paul Hamiltion

Your blog post on Cain was very interesting! I have never heard of this man before your post, which is very surprising seeing how well known he is. He sounds like a great candidate for being the president. Very good and factual blog post. I really enjoyed it!

5. Nuh-Uh! McD’s Would Never Deceive Me! What!?!

by Isa Ramos

Wow!! That’s all I can say! I knew that the food we were getting was not as good looking as the ones in the commercials, but these look awful! The pictures were a great realization and are a perfect fit. I love how you use little paragraphs in all of your posts. It makes me want to read your blog. I loved the post, not so much McDonald’s anymore.

6. 1o Common errors writers make

By Daphne Gray-Grant

These are all really good observations on our grammar in today’s culture. Another word that gets me a little upset is when people misuse “their”, “they’re”, and “there” which is so elementary.  I see that more often then you would expect. This was also a nice refresher for my grammar too. Very good!

7. Donate a kidney, save a life…get fired?

By TD Hurst

When I read the title of your blog I was like there is no way there has to be some sort of twist here…but I was proven wrong. This is something that I can’t believe. I understand where the company doesn’t have to pay here, but why fire her?…I wonder if there was another reason she was fired…

8. Facebook contests – what are they good for?

By TD Hurst

I totally agree! I have never bothered entering those kinds of contests because I thought it was too much of a waste of time, and you have a very little chance especially when you are up against those kind of people. Don’t give me wrong it is great PR, but not to enjoyable for the contestants when they know they are up against the “big guys”

9. Talk About A Reality Show

By  David Eichler

I think that this would be a great idea! Especially for first time job seekers because they would be the funniest, but also get the most out of the experience. I think it would like America’s Funniest Home Videos + Punked = HILARIOUSNESS!! Great idea and it works for both sides here (the interviewer, interviewee, and the audience at home)

10. No Reply. Now what?

By Charlotte Shaff

Well I am just a student in college, but I have the exact same questions as you from a professional stand point. I know for finding my first job (not in PR) I called back about five to seven times to see if they had reviewed my application. I felt like I was annoying them like crazy, but many people say that is what you have to do. I also have to do ad campaigning for my school, and I just wish people would give me an answer!

11. 5 ways to respond to nasty Facebook comments

By Josh McColough

These are great tips and very simple stuff. It is customer service! 🙂 I think this applies to most companies as well not just hospitals and that is what I like about it. Thank you for the advice!

12. How often do you forget a password?

By Jessica Levco

Wow, I have never heard of that happening before. I am not a frequent user of Twitter, but it seems like they should do something about this if it is a “common problem”. And I have to agree that their customer service/communication is very poor from the support team.  They really should be getting back to you within the first day at the latest.  I hope your problem gets fixed!

13. Google+: Ugh. Do we have to?

By Josh McClough

I totally agree with you! I do not even know anyone who has the Google+ and it seems to me that they are just trying to out beat Facebook, which probably will not happen. Facebook is so common. And I know for me I do not want to learn a whole new program over again. I like sticking to things, but also being relevant. And Facebook is still relevant.

14. 4 Tips for scoring coverage in holiday gift guides

By Jackson Wightman

These are great tips! I think this also applies for any work you are trying to get into a newspaper or magazine, but it is mostly important at big times of the year like Christmas or Valentine’s Day.  One question I have is what would you say is the most common gift that writers say to give? I have always wondered!

15. Kim Kardashian’s Marriage: PR stunt…Or PR Stunt?

By: Michael Sebastian

I agree with one of the above comments. Saying that things just didn’t work out blows my mind away. You married this man and it just didn’t work out so you divorced. To me that sounds like Kim has major problems. It sounds like she did not even want to try. It has only been 72 days!!! The only reason I see a couple getting a divorce is if there was cheating involved, but who am I to judge the situation. I am sure we are not hearing all of the story, or more than there is. These are just my thoughts on the situation.

16. Do Liberal Arts Students Make Better PR Pros?

By Nathan Burgess

This is a very interesting post. I like it! I am a PR student, but now I know to be inquisitive, which I think I am. I will always work on this though. I always like learning new things to a degree, but I will have to learn this is something that I need to be productive and a professional in PR.

17. Have you seen Paula Deen get smacked in the face with a ham?

By: Michael Sebastian

First of all you have to admit this was funny. I love Paula Deen to death and I know she was laughing at herself to so I think it is okay to get a little giggle out of it as well. She definitely got herself out on the media from this event. To be known can be painful!

19. Students: The 9 things that matter more than GPA

By: Becky Johns

All of this is very true! I am a college PR student now and I talked to a professional and he basically said the same thing! It is a lot of relief knowing GPA doesn’t matter, but there are a lot of other things we need to learn and be good at. Great blog!

20. Why a press release is like a 60 second commercial?

By: Greg Miller

I do not know much about press releases, but this seems very good! I think in all things communication you need to be memorable. Really enjoyed this post!
